439cc Engines in 8.5kW Home Standby Generators
Oil capacity in these generators is 1.1 quarts. Oil level is checked by removing the automotive type dipstick.
Check the oil level daily when the generator is running for an extended period of time.
- If the generator is running during a utility outage, turn off all household loads.
- Turn the engine control module switch to the OFF position.
- Remove the dipstick. Wipe it dry with a clean cloth and completely reinsert it into the dipstick tube.
- Remove the dipstick. The oil level should be at the FULL mark. If necessary, add oil. DO NOT overfill.
- Install the dipstick.
- Turn the engine control module switch to its prior position.
